Is the Bible silent on that?<\/span><\/p>\n Right from the beginning God reveals our dignity: \u201cLet us make man in our image, after our likeness.\u201d (Genesis 1:26) No other creature in all the universe is made in God\u2019s image. Abortion destroys a unique bearer of God's image.<\/span><\/p>\n The Bible says a great deal about abortion!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cthe Lord who made you...who formed you from the womb\u201d (Isaiah 44)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n That is why the Church teaches that \u201cHuman life must be respected and protected absolutely\u00a0from the moment of conception.\u201d\u00a0(CCC, 2270)<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n And there is, of course, the ultimate example: God became man! When Mary pays a visit to her cousin, Elizabeth\u2019s baby, upon hearing Mary\u2019s greeting, \u201cleaped in her womb\u201d. (Luke 1:41)<\/span><\/p>\n The Savior's life on Earth began at the Annunciation, not Christmas and \u201cEvery child who\u2026is condemned unjustly to being aborted bears the face of Jesus Christ\u201d. (Pope Francis)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n In the Bible life<\/strong>, human dignity<\/strong>, begins in the womb<\/strong>, not with the first breath at birth.<\/span><\/p>\n That is why the Church insists that \u201cThe deliberate murder of an innocent person\u00a0is gravely contrary to the dignity of the human being, to the golden rule, and to the holiness of the Creator. Scripture teaches that\u00a0our lives are fashioned by God. From the moment we are \u201cconceived\u201d we have human dignity<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
