The Catholic Church emphasizes women\u2019s dignity, equality, and unique vocation.<\/span><\/p>\nShe sees a woman\u2019s role as multifaceted and indispensable: equal in dignity to men, gifted with a \u201cfeminine genius\u201d for nurturing life, and called to serve as mothers (physically or spiritually), family builders, and transformers of society. <\/span><\/p>\nModeled on Mary (the \"perfection of what is characteristic of woman\" (Pope St. John Paul II, 5)<\/a>) women reflect God\u2019s love and mercy in a unique way -- which is always rooted in the complementarity of the sexes.<\/span><\/p>\nA Woman's Role Springs from her Dignity<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n <\/p>\n

The Church teaches that women and men are equal in dignity \u2013 both are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).
